Voice mail Greeting recording problem
On one of the iPhones we had an issue that we could not change the voicemail greeting recording. Voicemail worked and the preference could be changed to the “Default” setting. But changing the actual greeting did not work. We were able to resolve the problem by resetting the preferences on the iPhone. The only noticeable change was that the Favorites were reset and that the greeting record function was now working ![]()

I’ve had my iPhone for a couple of weeks now. Initial recording of my outgoing greeting was a breeze, but now I want to change it and the record function does not work. Sounds like the same issue. Can you please elaborate on what you mean when you say that you reset the preferences on the iPhone? Exactly what settings did you change? Thanks!

on the iPhone you can reset the preferences. I have seen this problem now on multiple iPhones, mine I waited a couple days to make sure it wasn’t AT&T, but as soon as I reset the settings all worked. The only problem is that you loose your favorites and a few other personal settings.
Here is how you do the reset.
Go to the main screen on the iphone. Then go to Settings. Tap General, then scroll down and tap Reset.
The first option is to Reset All Settings. Tap this option. I DO NOT recommend selecting Erase All Content and Settings, as this would basically put your iPhone back to factory settings and you would have to reconnect to iTunes and start over.
Good luck, Please post your results.
