From all the news you will be able to go into the Apple store and buy the iPhone and take it home. Then activate it using iTunes. So if you do not have an iTunes account I would recommend setting it up now. I am sure Apple’s iTunes servers will be slammed shortly after 6pm Friday as they have been with other promotions and events. As I recall Christmas last year almost shut down iTunes.
Per the site you will need the following for activation: iTunes account, major credit card, and a valid Social Securlty number(as required by AT&T).

Well we have called multiple stores and are getting multiple answers about the release and availability of the iPhone.
But the consensus is that at 6pm Friday June 29th Apple and AT&T stores will be releasing the iPhone. One Cingular store said they were expecting lines
We’ll see. The price may keep the lines short.

Check back soon as this blog will have a new look and lots more information.

I just saw the Apple iPhone commercial from AT&T (Cingular) that showed the launch date of June 29th. In small letters of course 2 Year Contract committment.
Earlier today I had two resources with information on the iPhone. One had contacted Cingular which would only state the date of June 29th as confirmed above. The second was feedback from an inside source that AT&T/Cingular will only be selling the iPhone through their retail outlets. The reps can’t even sell them. Looks like we will all be standing in line to get one come June 29th. Could be a good day. Pick it up on Friday and check it out the entire weekend.
More to come……

Apple has removed the disclaimer at the bottom of their iPhone webpage which stated it could not be release without FTC authorization.
Looks like Apple is on track for a June release.

Well…..stated right on the Apple iphone home page is “This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained.” [Link]
So with that said and only two months to the stated release.
Can the FTC hold up the iPhone? Lets hope not.

Well now we know!! CNet’s recent broadcast of related iPhone blogs has informed us that Cingular has confirmed the release date of Apple’s new iPhone.
Note that is the first day of Apple’s World Wide Developers conference. Maybe they will release Leopard on the same day.
More news to follow.
Thanks for the info CNET!!!

Welcome everyone with any interest to Apple’s new iPhone(tm?).
Will Apple do it again? Will they have another iPod? It already is an iPod with a better screen.
The true test is will is it be everything they say? I have seen the demo, seen the phone (behind a glass case, arggh!), and read the articles. Now everyone has to wait……… Will it be out in June?? Only time will tell. Apple seems to be much better about there timelines in the recent years over the past.
So why this blog? Well being an systems consultant and having used the Treo for many years, this is the first phone that looks to have it all. I know the Blackberry’s are available, but I need to point and click whether it be a mouse, trackball, or a PDA. So seeing the new iPhone with the ability to have wireless internet via cell or Wi-Fi, having an interactive touch screen, and possibly take over my recently purchased iPod video features, I’m seriously interested! as well as most of my clients.
So this blog is to capture as much information about the iPhone and share with everyone. The plan is to post the trials of setup, installation, integration, hot syncing, installing new apps, and anything else you or someone else would want to know about the iPhone.
I welcome your posts.
